Mr Karagama did his Higher Surgical Training in Newcastle-upon -Tyne where he obtained a Certificate of Completion of Training in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery in 2007. Since that date he has since been a registered specialist in Ear Nose and Throat Surgery with the General Medical Council.

He has an MSc in Advanced Voice Research from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. During his training and subsequently, he has completed research in various Ear, Nose and Throat conditions, presenting papers in local, national and international conferences for which he has been awarded prizes at two conferences.

He runs the Central Manchester Voice Clinic at Manchester Royal Infirmary, using a high tech Video-Stroboscope to diagnose and treat various voice disorders. He works with expert speech and language therapists in a multidisciplinary team.
